Review For: PixiMyst Review By: Petz Dreamz Date: July 12, 2008 Layout Version: Flight of Sweet Dreams Layout: 19/20 Wow, what a lovely layout. I was taken in by the incredible graphics and amazing precision in graphic taste and placement. You know I love your pixel art, it is always so delightful to look at. =] Anyways, the layout has a fine quality of uniqueness to it - it isn't like so many other petz layout you see out there. The colour combination is brilliant, too - they blend in nicely and compliment eachother instead of clashing. They aren't too bright or hard on the eyes, either. That's a relief. You don't know how tired I am of seeing sites with layouts that are bright neon coloured mixed with black and maybe purple or something. Anyways, back on track - as I said, it has a nice uniqueness to it, I've never seen any other kind of layout like it in the Petz Community, which is a nice change since a lot of people seem to make the same type of layouts nowadays. (I tend to try to stay away from that - I like to be my own person and be unique. Being the same as everyone else is boring, y'know? ^o^;) By the way, the fruits on the side are adorable. Now, I'm afraid I may have a critic also (don't worry, this won't last long.) Well, my only problem is that the layout stretches on quite a bit. I know you're trying to fit everything in, but is it possible to make it a little smaller? ^-^;; To conclude this category, you have a very tasteful, classic, and beautiful layout that is smooth to the eye to look at. It is unique and fantastic and shows a great deal of sophistication in pixel art and layout making. Well done :) Content: 17/20 You have a healthy dose of content that really drawls people in. You have a lot of unique ideas that I really love. For example - the quilts and stamps. Those are both lovely, unique ideas that bring a new sort of trend into the PC. The SSRB is a fantastic idea - well done! Wow, you have a lot of people on the b-day list. That's good. You also have a nice variety of goods, such as templates and tutorials. Except, under the "Making a Website" category, you only have one tutorial ;o Uh oh, where did the rest go?! XD But don't worry, the other fine tutorials make up for it. :) No pressure there. Also, I love the lists. Those are extremely helpful and I know everyone may need a little help along with show names and such from time to time, so kudos to you. Anyways, on the other side, a lot of pages seem to be down and "re-modeling" and have been for quite some time. This is quite a dissapointment to those who have been waiting for them for awhile or those whom were looking forward to seeing them. :[ (ie, Textures page, Trinkets page.) Some pages seem out of date, also - such as the "Perfecting Details" page. You've had this to do list up since 2006, I'm sure you've accomplished a lot of those things. Maybe making a new graphic would be more useful? ;) Also, surfing the site through all my years, I've noticed that not all of the grammar is precise and correctly structured/stated. Such as on the "This page is coming later" graphic, it says "Once I get my head on strait." Hehe, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "straight" :) There's other grammar mistakes here and there, but nothing serious. Also, the guardians page seems to be re-located. Since the page is relocated to a different area, maybe removing it from the navigation? Also, I've noticed that some things have been on your request list for quite some time. It's easily understandable that you are quite busy, though. Anywho, back to a positive note, as you would say, there is an enjoyable amount of unique content that draws people back in and makes them addicted. (I know I'M a PixiMyst addict, heh heh.) Your show awards are always highly impressive and very gorgeous, and you always judge shows very quickly. Your adoptions are really adorable and attractive, I'm tempted to snatch a few. There aren't many petz in the freebie box, though. Maybe adding more? Trading for adoptions to me dosen't usually seem like a fair idea, but you've done pretty well with it. Adding more petz to the freebie box would be splendid, though. =] Anyways, to conclude my mini-essay (hehe,) you've done a great job on the amount of fun content you've added into PixiMyst. I've seen some really unique and well-thought out ideas on PixiMyst that I really enjoy. Keep it up with the individualism! =] (everyone likes a site that is different - and big! Heh heh, you were correct with the things you wrote in my review - we both don't know the concept of a "small" site and we don't think it applies to us =P) Navigation: 20/20 I couldn't find anything wrong here. The navigation is EXTREMELY easy to find, and runs very smoothly in a neat menu. I love how the links are under the categories instead of going by the two-three click rule. You can instantly get to a page. What's more enjoyable than that? (especially for lazy people like me. ;D) Entertainment: 20/20 I think I pretty much covered this in the "Content" area. PixiMyst offers a great amount of delectables that spruce up the site and give it it's own unique artistic air. There are various amounts of things to do that will keep you busy for quite some time, and of course a few things to take with you (such as the quilt squares, stamps, etc.) and collect. PixiMyst is large and interactive that I have spent hours on it before. It keeps your attention the whole time. :) So great job there! Knowledge: 20/20 You are obviously very knowledgeable in many areas. HTML and graphic designing/ pixel designing being your strongest areas. You have a high degree of knowledge in your surroundings and know the PC and it's "characters" well. So bravo to you. :) (Believe me, that's important in being a PC member.) Entertainment: 1/0 For those lovely sigtags and shining ideas! :) Total: 97 % Summary: PixiMyst is a greatly admired, respectable site with a friendly, cheerful, kind and caring atmosphere. You seem to welcome any newcomer with welcome arms and always have kind things to say about everyone. Anytime someone is nasty you simply ignore them instead of giving them the attention you crave. That's an admirable trait. :) Anyways, PixiMyst is a great site for all to enjoy. It's interactive, classic, really unique, and most of all, owned by a great person with a heart purely made of gold.
