Ah, yes - reviews are great fun! The process is simple: You send in the form below, I take a look at your website, and you get a fancy award and text commentary to display on your site to show off your mad web-design skills ;)
Rubric
I base all scores and percentages out of a balance of 100. The criteria for each is shown below.
First Imprssion: This should be self-explanitory, but just in case... How does it strike me? Does it look like you spent some time and thought putting the it all together or does it look like a slapstick attempt to pull something into one piece in a hurry or without experience? Consider the layout and loading time. And music... (gah, don't let me tell you about how I learned about this little detail the hard way!)
Layout: Is it easy to navigate or do you have to search for places to click to get from page to page? Does the text fit in to the layout and at a reasonable size? Consider loading time and page fluency - design is key.
Content: Ah, this is probably one of the meatiest sections in the review! When I look at this section, I consider a number of critical factors -- including style, quality, interactive rating (what is there to do?), interest rating (does it hook people, and furthermore, does it keep them enthralled?), presentation, variety, uniqueness, etc.
Organization: Another self-explanitory one, but again - just in case - The score for this section is based upon a number of interlaced details, including clarity, ease, general presentation, method, style, consistancy, and overall context.
Unique Factor: What about your site makes it stick out among all the hundreds of other sites in the Petz Community? What is the pull factor that attracts people to visit and re-visit your site? Do you have any extras, or a one-of-a-kind contest, etc.?
Activity: How active a site-owner are you? Do you update regularly? In this section, I am basing my analysis on you, not on your visitors. Though your guests may tend to reflect the efficacious aspect of your work, it is not them I am intending to "judge."
Overall: Ignoring all the nitty-gritty details examined above, we get the larger picture. How, in essence, does your site contribute to the PC? When grading this section, I look at the broader scope and consider factors accordingly. Items such as longevity or potential longevity may weigh in on standard levels of commentary.
Bonus: Points given accordingly, which means that it is possible to get over 100%
Anita's Statement: Just any final thoughts, critical ideas, etc.
Ways to Improve: Everyone (I count myself, too) could improve their site somehow. This section basically outlines some of the ways I thought could help it become achieved :)
