If you take a look at any picture of a dog (or cat) taken in reasonably good lighting, you will notice that they have a little glint in their eyes. With the petz program, even though the light is present, it is only reflected on their noses.

In this tutorial, there are four different sections: Method One (Sparkle V.1) is a more subtle technique, and is a fine choice for petz with larger pupils. It's also my favorite... >^.^< Method Two (Sparkle V.2) is similar, and is ideal for creating a "disk-like" effect, while the third method (Sparkle V.3) makes for a bolder / harder statement. The last method (Fog/Liquid Eyes) is the most flexible to work with - as it looks devine on all eye-types. It creates a softer look, however, and is generally used for diluting purposes (consider the mood of the layout or project).

Part One: Sparkles Version I
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Open the image of your petz that you want to edit
2. Click on zoom tool and magnify the image so that you can see the pixels of the eyes clearly. Normally, I like my working space fairly large -- So, my zoom is usualy around 2000%.
3. Click on the paint brush tool from the side bar (in PSP9 it's the 7th button down).
4. Set the Tool Preset to "Square 01" -- or to the smallest circle size possible. In either case, the size of the brush should be one pixel. Hardness (100), Step (1), Density (100), Thickness (100), Rotation (0), Opacity (100), and Blend Mode (normal) should also be preset. Choose the color white to work with.
5. Place one pixel in the upper left hand corner of one of the eyes. Placing this mark in the pupil is most effective. Do the same for the other eye.
6. Add transparency to the final image and WaLa! Sparkle-filled eyes ;)
