~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Style II: Colored & Solid ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Open the image of your petz that you want to outline
2. Create a dotted outline using the magic wand tool method. If you don't know how, read this tutorial. Don't worry about the background color for now. It can be transparent, or it can be filled with ONE SINGLE color -- in the long run, it's not that important. For this tutorial, I'm going to color my background white for visibility purposes.
3. Take the paint brush and adjust the Tool Preset to "Square 01" -- using the smallest size possible so that it's only one pixel. Choose the color black to work with.
4. Imgaine for a moment that you're back in grade / primary school again and get to play a good ol' fashioned game of connect-the-dots. Well, go on now... what does the final picture turn out to be? Why, a pixelated outline of course! ;)
5. Select the magic wand tool and click anywhere in between the petz and the outline. This will narrow our field for the next step.
6. There are about a million different ways to color the inside of the selection, everywhere from importing pictures to messing around with the paint brush settings. The easiest way, however, is just to fill it with a gradient or pattern of some kind. For more information about how this can be done, what works / doesn't work, and samples, click here.
7. Take a look at what you've got so far by deselecting the magic wand (Selections > Select None).
8. At this point, you can also add any extras you would like (such as eye-sparkles) in the final product.
9. Now all that's left to do is to save (or export) as a transparent image and enjoy!
