~ How to Make Litter Pictures ~

(Petz Style)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Style 1: Plain and Simple
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1. Create a new, transparent image (772px by 537px). It's going to be rather large, but don't worry... We'll crop it all down later. ;)

2. Minimize the new image and open up all the pictures of your petz that you want to be included in the final product. For this example, I'm going to use a litter of three.

3. Before moving on, and to save a little time, you could add some eye sparkles. If you don't know how to add eye-glints, read this tutorial.

4. Now, choose one of the petz pictures. You are now ready to transfer it over to the 772 by 537 image. To do this, simply take your magic wand tool and click in the white space around the petz. Invert (Shift+Ctrl+I) the selection so that the ants are surrounding only the petz.

5. Copy (Ctrl+C) and paste your selection on the 772 by 537 image as a new layer (Ctrl+L).

6. It is VERY IMPORTANT to check for errors! Though the magic wand is fairly accurate most of the time, it doesn't always catch everything... Look at this example - the white space in between Capa's back and tail wasn't taken out because one pixel was blocking the "ants" from reaching it. Thankfully, the solution to this problem is quite simple! All you need to do is click the magic wand in this space and press the "Delete" key on the keyboard.

7. Repeat steps four through six for the other petz.

8. Click on the move tool and click on the petz to shift the layers into different positions on the page. Play around a bit. See how you would like them to be placed. For this litter, I'm going to use the standard "row" design.

9. When you are satisfied, merge all the layers together. My advice: Either do the layers one by one or "Merge visible" - That way, you don't get the white background back! :P

Here's what I've got so far:

10. Of course, now that that litter is done, it would be a nice gesture to let your visitors know the names and genders of the petz that they will be adopting. To do this, we use text. Simply add the correct names next to the right catz / dogz. When you are done, merge the layers and copy (Ctrl+C).

11. Paste and it should already be the perfect dimensions. Export it as a .gif image and WAAA...LA!
